Lorraine "Laurie" Theresa Thalacker, age 85, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls, Wis.
Lorraine "Laurie" Theresa Thalacker, age 85, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls, Wis.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1927, to Vincent and Genevieve Schuh in Rock Falls, Wis.
Laurie was married to Duane Thalacker of Mondovi, Wis. Together they had seven children. She was a homemaker for many years and then worked at Red Wing Shoe, retiring after 23 years of service.
Laurie loved bowling, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Ellsworth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; son Mark; brothers, Roman, Frank, Louis, Edward, Richard, Kenneth; and sister Ann (Bauer).
She is survived by sister Arlene (Gruber); children Duane (Dianne) Schuh, June (Don) Merta, Brian (Toni) Thalacker, Audrey (George) Matzek, Janet (Keith) Anderson, Bradley (Linda) Thalacker; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lorraine at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth with Father William Matzek officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth, and for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
