Palmer Eldon Lynum passed away suddenly on Feb. 24 at the age of 82 at his home.

Palmer Eldon Lynum passed away suddenly on Feb. 24 at the age of 82 at his home.

Born to Elmer and Bertha Lynum Feb. 12, 1931, he was fourth of 11 children.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Carole (Hulverson) Lynum; children: Sheila (Russ) Moore, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Scott (Christine) Lynum, L'Anse, Mich.; Brad (Peggy) Lynum, White Bear Lake, Minn.; Becky (Brian) Erickson, Loveland, Colo.; Brenda Lynum, Louisville, Colo.; Mary (Jack Meredith) Lynum, Spring Lake, Mich.; 17 grandchildren: Andrew, Matthew, and Alex Moore; Grayson, Mitchell, Jake, Caleb, and Erika Lynum; Dan, Doug, and David Lynum; Sarah, Emily, and Connor Erickson; Micah and Kendall Hoffman; and Chloe Meredith; one great-grandchild, Zeke Lynum; siblings: Wanda Holle, Baldwin; Gail Lynum, Trego, Wis.; Larry Lynum, N. Hudson; and Steve Lynum, Woodville; plus many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by parents; grandson Benjamin; sisters Beatrice, Delores, Loretta; and brothers John, Robert, and Wayne.

Palmer served in the Army in Korea. Following the war, he married and started his family, living in Minnesota where he studied electrical engineering and was employed at Honeywell where he worked on several NASA projects. He returned to the Spring Valley area where he bought and operated a dairy farm, and upon selling it, worked as an electrician.

Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Friday at Keehr Funeral Home. Memorial funeral service was 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley; Rev. D. Peter Friberg officiating. Organist was Linda Anderson, vocalist Scott Lynum. Burial will be at a later date in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spooner, Wis. Military honors were performed by the Rickerd-Danielson American Legion Post 227 of Spring Valley.
