Donald Leo Rohl of Ellsworth died on March 11 at the River Falls Area Hospital.
He was born on June 1, 1938, to Edwin and Mabel Rohl, in River Falls, Wis. He graduated from Prescott High School. He received a degree in ag education at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He married Carol Cashman on June 16, 1962. After working for PCA, he settled in Ellsworth in 1964. He began farming in 1966 east of Ellsworth. As a dedicated farmer, he raised seven children, who he loved to farm with.
Don was a well-respected man and involved in many organizations in the local community, such as the Pierce County Board and the Ellsworth Co-op Creamery.
He was preceded in death by his son Norbert Rohl; parents, Edwin and Mabel Rohl; sisters Linda Cram, Bonnie Kusilek; brother Dick Rohl Sr.; other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
He is survived by his children Julie (Dana) Lansing, Peggy (Scott) Swedien, Mike (Amanda) Rohl, Mary (Todd) Rohl, Ed (Amy) Rohl, Stacey Rohl, Karie Place; grandchildren, Jon, Dan, Morgan, Andrea, Kendra H., Samantha, Hank H., Samir, Ethan, Emily, Kacie, Kendra L., Eli, Seth, George, and Brea; sisters Mary (Norman) Huppert, Peggy (Bob) Matzek, Joanne deLeon, Kathy (Bob) Rotty, Paula Fiedler; brothers John (Jeanne) Rohl, Jay (Geri) Rohl, Tim (Judy) Rohl, Steve (Peggy) Rohl; and Carol Rohl.
Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the church, and for 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
