Edna C. (Koopman) Johnson, 92, of Esdaile, formerly of Bay City and Red Wing, died Monday, March 26, at her son's home in Esdaile.

Edna C. (Koopman) Johnson, 92, of Esdaile, formerly of Bay City and Red Wing, died Monday, March 26, at her son's home in Esdaile.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1919, in the town of Hallie, Wis., to William and Alice (Hilp) Buttenhoff. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, Wis. She married Theodore Koopman on Oct. 15, 1949, in Chippewa Falls. Two sons were born to this union. They moved to Esdaile in 1953. She worked at Brady Company, Esdaile Telephone Company, and at Jostens. Theodore died on May 26, 1971, and their son Roger died on March 30, 1975. On Jan. 22, 1978, she married Ernest "Tut" Johnson, and they made their home in Bay City. After he passed away, she moved to Jordan Towers in Red Wing and then to her son's home in Esdaile.

She was a member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Esdaile and past member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bay City where she taught Sunday school and was president of the LCW. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and playing cribbage.

She is survived by one son, Richard (Jolene) Koopman of Esdaile; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Adam Koopman of Bay City, Jenna (Grant) Wood and their daughter, Kylee, of Coloma, Mich., and Tracy (Tanner) Thornton and their two sons, Wyatt and Connor, of Hager City; one sister, Ione Brovold of Chippewa Falls, and two brothers, Ed (Edie) Buttenhoff of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Gordon (Maggie) Buttenhoff of Chippewa Falls. She is further survived by three stepdaughters, Jill Johnson of Woodbury, Lynn (Otto) Bender of Bay City, and Dixie (Kenny) Basch of Ellsworth; one step-granddaughter, Lisa (Chris) Cernohous of River Falls; two step-great-grandchildren, Sydney and Bennet; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; her son Roger; and brother-in-law, Lyman Brovold.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Esdaile with Rev. Mary Eide officiating. Burial will be in the Bay City Cemetery. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
