Katherine Marie Miller, 94, of Hager City, died Tuesday, June 5, at the Fairview Seminary Home.
Katherine Marie Miller, 94, of Hager City, died Tuesday, June 5, at the Fairview Seminary Home.
She was born on May 11, 1918, in Goodhue to Benjamin and Marie (Joost) Mann. She attended Wilson school in Trenton Township. On April 27, 1946, she married Maynard Miller at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. For many years they farmed in Pierce County and she worked at Ehlers Restaurant. Then, for 18 years she worked in the school cafeteria at Prairie View School until 1981. Maynard died June 20, 2006.
She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, playing cards and entertaining family and friends. She was also very fond of her beloved cat, Goldie.
Survivors include one niece, Arlene (Rick) Sutherland of The Villages, Fla.; two nephews Frank (Alice) Cobb of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jim (Judy) Cobb of Colorado; grand-nieces and nephews, Sheila (Tim) Kirk of Elk River, Bruce (Kim) Mann of Hager City, Sharon MacLean (Jesus Miranda-Alanso) of Richfield, Stephanie (Matt) Prose of Pine Island and Michael (Emily) Sutherland of Chippewa Falls; along with many great, great nieces; and great, great, great nieces and nephews; cousins; and family friend, Vicky (Ron) Kimmen of Red Wing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Edward, Leslie and Harvey Mann; and one nephew Howard Mann,
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Rev. Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Kimmen, Michael Sutherland, Frank Cobb, Jim Cobb, Tim Kirk, Leon Kirk and Matt Prose. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for 1 hour prior to the service.
