Gerald "Tom" Thomas Schramski, age 79, of Ellsworth, died June 12, at his home, with his family and wife of 53 years, at his side.

Gerald "Tom" Thomas Schramski, age 79, of Ellsworth, died June 12, at his home, with his family and wife of 53 years, at his side.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1932, in Balsam Lake, Wis., to Thomas and Sophia (Wendt) Schramski. He was one of 3 children. He attended school in Balsam Lake, and graduated from the UW-River Falls, received his master’s degree from UW-Stout. He married Mary Commerford on June 6, 1959. He taught school and coached for many years, and spent the last 12 years of his career as a school guidance counselor.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores; and brother, Richard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children Tom of Lake City, Minn., and Kate of Green Bay, Wis.; six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at St. Francis Catholic Church. There will be a visitation from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church, prior to the service. Private burial will be at a later date at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.

Hill Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Ellsworth is assisting the family.
