Gordon Russell Lewis, 91, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, March 19, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.
Gordon Russell Lewis, 91, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, March 19, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.
He was born on March 13, 1922, in Plum City, Wis., to Russell and Bessie (Pease) Lewis. He attended schools in the Plum City area and graduated from high school. For a few years, he farmed in the Ellsworth area before moving to Red Wing. He married Lillian Pax, and they later divorced. For many years, he worked for the Goodhue County Highway Department until his retirement. He lived at Jordan Towers until moving to St. Brigid's at Hi-Park in 2010.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Jerry) Johnson of Bruce Wis.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean (William) Gasteyer of Elmwood, Wis.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Chapel at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park with Debbie Bradley officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service.
