Literacy Day event at the library Sept. 8

Wisconsin Literacy and its member agencies kick off the annual 1200 Tutors in 12 Weeks campaign on International Literacy Day, Wednesday, Sept. 8. Sponsored by Verizon and Alliant Energy Foundation, the campaign aims to recruit and train 1,200 new volunteer literacy tutors across the state.

PV students earn reading medals PressPass

PV students earn reading medals On June 4, Prairie View Elementary School held its quarterly Accelerated Reader assembly to recognize students for their reading achievements. Students were recognized in six categories. Forty students passed 100 percent of the tests they took while they maintained at least an 80 percent comprehension and met the minimum number of points set by their teachers. Six students earned 50 points or more during the quarter.
