Sen. Schultz wants changes to mining bill or it won't get past state Senate
Wisconsin Legislature-- Senate Republican Dale Schultz of Richland Center – who has said he would vote no to the current package – said he would work with other lawmakers all weekend to come up with a more moderate bill that all sides can support. He expects it to be ready sometime next week.

Assemblyman sponsors bill to take statute of limitations in rape cases
Wisconsin News-- There's no statute-of-limitation for murder -- and a lawmaker says there shouldn't be one for attempted murder or rapes, either. Assembly Republican Jim Steineke of Kaukauna says he'll ask his colleagues to co-sponsor a bill that takes away the normal six-year time limit for prosecutors to file charges in attempted homicide and rape cases.
