Wrestling camp brings Pierce County wrestlers together 
Wrestlers from around Pierce County gathered in the Prescott High School cafeteria for the Nick Purler’s Foundation Wrestling Camp. One of the camps organizers, Jason Nelson, said that with sports like football and basketball having summer camps, the wrestlers decided they should have a camp of their own. The camp was designed to help bring wrestling together and coach the kids as well.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Ellsworth’s Jens Lantz was able to repeat as national champion at 91 pounds at the USA Wrestling ASICS Folkstyle National Championships back on April 3 at the UNI Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa.

Wisconsin Sports- University of Wisconsin sophomore Andrew Howe defeated Dan Vallimont of Penn State 9-3 Saturday to win the NCAA Division I Championship title at 165 pounds.

Matzek becomes youngest coach to win national title
Ellsworth's Mark Matzek becomes the youngest coach to win an NCAA Division III national wrestling title as he led the Auggies to national championship this weekend. He was also named Coach of the Year in Division III.

No repeat for the Purple Panthers, Oconto Falls wins state semi match
One only set of Panthers would emerge from the semifinal match between No. 2 ranked Oconto Falls and No. 3 Ellsworth victorious at the WIAA Team State Wrestling Meet at the UW Fieldhouse. Unfortunately it was the cats in Orange as OF won 33-26 Saturday afternoon.

Minnesota state prep wrestling tournament starts Wednesday
Minnesota Sports- Every inch of the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul will be busy today when the high school state wrestling tournament gets underway. The entire floor of the arena is covered with wrestling mats, and multiple individual preliminary matches are scheduled all day.
