Saturday's scenes at the Fair
Besides the Demolition Derby and on and off rain showers, Saturday was also the day for the finals in the countywide talent competition and a day to just enjoy the everything the Pierce County Fair offers.

Horses and horse power
Horses are an important part of Pierce County's ag scene and thus and important part of the Pierce County Fair. Horse showing, pulling, judging and competitions take place throughout the fair and there an event which drew a good-sized crowd to the Horse Arena Saturday - Horse vs. Horsepower - which featured horse and ATV riders trying to capture rings judged on both time and accuracy.

Derby Day in Pierce County
The high point or largest gathering point of any Pierce County Fair is annual Ellsworth Funster Demolition Derby and Saturday's derby was no exception. Over 40 cars, both compact and full-sized competed in front of a packed grandstand area for a purse over $4,000. Check out photos and videos from this year's derby but be warned to keep the volume down on your computer. 14 stock cars in one heat make a whole lot of noise.

Stop those pigs!
Spring Valley's Emily Helmer and Elmwood's Megan Gerates move quickly to try and catch a pair of runaway pigs in the Drewskie Building. Besides holding swine, the Building also holds sheep and goats and Thursday was junior sheep judging day. Check out the video of the event.
