The Servants Quarters, a bed-and-breakfast in the town of River Falls that offers a woodsy retreat-like setting, recently completed major remodeling that added a 500-square-foot meeting and conference room that will accommodate groups of up to 20 people. Owner-operator Debra Overbye said other changes include converting a porch to a ham radio operator room. She said the Servants Quarters facilities offer a relaxed setting for meeting, planning, training, seminars, quilting, scrapbooking, showers and other gatherings.
At the River Falls Town Board meeting last week, the Board made the decision to hang onto the custom-made town safe because of the historical ties that it represents. The large and heavy safe is engraved with the town’s name. Town resident Elwood Elliott had previously requested to purchase the safe that is currently being stored at the highway shop.
