Still time to catch "Nibbles & Bits"

The River Falls Community Theatre will present Nibbles & Bits: A Night of One-Acts & Desserts Feb. 15, 16, 22 and 23 at the River Falls Golf Course, 1011 County Road M. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with pre-show music and dessert starting at 6:45 p.m. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include coffee and dessert. Tickets available in advance at the Dish & Spoon Café, 208 N Main St.

Opening reception Feb. 15 for new exhibitions

A series of exhibitions featuring mixed media collage by Carol Adleman, Luck; mixed media abstract expressionism by Charles A. Condon, River Falls; soda-fired stoneware by Jude Ryan Reiling, Minneapolis; mixed media sculpture by Mark D. Roberts and Denise Rouleau, Minneapolis; and acrylics and colored pencil drawings by Michael Tarr, Menomonie will be on view Feb. 15 through March 17 in The Galleries of The Phipps Center for the Arts.

"Comic Book Artist" auditions set at Phipps

The Phipps Children’s Theater will hold auditions for area students in grades 7 through 9 for the spring production of “The Adventures of a Comic Book Artist,” with book and lyrics by Pat Lydersen, and music by Wendy Woolf, on Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 26 and 28 at 6 p.m. in the Black Box Theater of The Phipps Center for the Arts. Callbacks will be held on Friday, March 1, at 6 p.m.

Stargazing begins soon at UW-River Falls

The UWRF Physics Department begins its spring season of free, public observatory viewings and astronomy talks on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Objects to be seen in the telescopes include planets, globular clusters, open clusters, nebulae, galaxies, moons, and double stars.

Mixed media at Galleries, oil painting classes begin

A series of exhibitions featuring a mixed media installation by Mary Bergs, Minneapolis; mixed media printmaking by CathyJean Clark, Neillsville; oil paintings by Tom McGregor, St. Paul; ceramics by Ursula Hargens, Minneapolis; acrylics on panel by Leslie Pilgrim, Mendota Heights, Minn.; journal drawings and watercolors by Tara Sweeney, St. Paul; and a group exhibition featuring work in a range of media by 11 local artists who participated in a series of seminars during 2012 focusing on the role of art and sustainability will be on view through Feb. 10 in The Galleries of The Phipps Center for the Arts.
