Confused about what to fertilize, when, and with what? Not enough fertilizer, and your plants won’t perform to their full potential. Too much fertilizer, and you could cause excessive foliage, damage the roots, or outright kill the plant! Fertilizing at the wrong time can do more harm than good for the health of the plant.

The St Croix Valley Master Gardeners are hosting Garden U on Saturday, March 16, at Ready Randy’s Conference Center in New Richmond. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the $30 fee includes lunch and speaker handouts.
The highlight of the Hudson Home and Garden Club’s December meeting will be a visit from Rebecca Kolls. She will speak on the topic of bee-keeping at the Tuesday, Dec. 4 meeting beginning at 1 p.m. at the Phipps Center for the Arts. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Joy Lutheran Church’s fourth annual Joy Plant Market will be held Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m.-noon at the church, 1435 St. Croix St., Prescott. “Home grown” perennials doing well in the Prescott area will be featured. For more information, call 715-262-5800.
Kinnic Health and Rehab, 1663 E. Division St., is holding a spring plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5. Hundreds of annuals and hanging baskets will be available at very reasonable prices. All proceeds go towards the purchase of a new bus for residents.
