UPDATE: Outdoor fire ban continues for River Falls area
River Falls Fire Chief Scott Nelson says that even with the recent light rains, conditions remain dry and the fire ban for the area will continue. Nelson has talked with fire chiefs in Hudson and Prescott who concur about this decision.

Healthier Together-St. Croix County is receiving a Transform Wisconsin Impact Grant to promote active communities in St. Croix County. Whooping cough cases increasing in both counties
Pertussis, more commonly known as whooping cough, is currently widespread, with 1,514 cases in Wisconsin and as of June 14, 35 cases in Pierce County and 29 cases in St. Croix County.

Willow River fishing contest and art show June 3
Willow River State Park, 1034 County Highway A, will host a kids fishing contest on Sunday, June 3, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The contest is open to children up to age 12. There will be three age groups: 6 and under fish from 9-9:45 a.m.; ages 7-9, from 10-10:45 a.m.; and ages 9-12, from 11-11:45 a.m. There is a $1 per child entry fee. The contest starts at 9 a.m. and registration opens at 8:30 p.m. Prizes are awarded after each age group. The prizes are for the largest fish, smallest fish and the most fish.
