ELMWOOD—The Elmwood Village Board reviewed the 2010 budget early last week.
Finance Committee Chair Bob Rupakus listed the highlights. There will be an 8.9 percent tax increase, which is over the two percent limit because of the new construction opportunity to build the senior living center. People will see a $21.11 increase in their taxes, on average, as a result.

In hope the issue of Class A licenses finally goes away, the Ellsworth Village Board again turned down a proposal by the board’s Health, License and Welfare Committee to amend the issuing of Class A license from one per 2,000 population to one per 1,500 population.
