Elmwood Post plans Vets' Day program

ELMWOOD--Thomas Werner, Commander of Elmwood’s Post 207, invites everyone to attend the Veteran’s Day program presented by the Crain-Ottman American Legion Post. The program will be held in the “Red Zone” gym at the Elmwood Public Schools at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.

Isaac Weix will be the speaker. He is in the Marine Reserve based in Madison. Also speaking will be the 2013 Badger Boy and Badger Girl State representatives about their experiences during their respective weeks. The band and chorus will also perform.

Auxiliary President Sandra Werner will present some new member pins to new junior and senior members, as well as continuous membership pins for 25 years-plus of service.

All Legionnaires and Auxiliary members are asked to meet at the Elmwood Auditorium by 8:15 a.m. and be ready to leave for school at 8:30 a.m. A pot-luck brunch will be held after the ceremony at the auditorium. A short Legion meeting will follow the meal.

All Legion and Auxiliary members are encouraged to turn in their volunteer hours to either Commander Werner or President Werner.
