Emerson performs in Plum City Oct. 12

PLUM CITY – Singer/songwriter Vicky Emerson returns to her Pierce County roots for an acoustic performance 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, at Molly’s on Main in Plum City.

Her most recent release, Dust and Echoes, received praise from City Pages which said, “Her songs thoughtfully reflect on love and loss...with graceful turns of phrase and affecting, country-tinged melodies that her lovely, hushed voice brushes with emotion.”

“It’s probably been about eight years since I have played a show in Plum City. I’d say that’s too long,” said Emerson. “I’m thrilled to be returning to my roots, and I truly can’t wait to see so many people that I grew up with and who have been on this journey of mine through music since I started playing piano as a child.” Emerson was raised on a small farm near Plum City, and even though she has lived in Manhattan and San Francisco, she says her roots continue to inspire her music.

Prior to having children, Emerson toured fulltime nationally as an independent artist, playing over 200 shows every year. She has resumed touring on a limited basis. Emerson and her husband live in Minneapolis with their two small children and are glad to be back in the Midwest to raise them. For more information about the show call (715) 647-2172 or visit
