Maiden Rock gallery on fall art tour for first time

MAIDEN ROCK--Cynde Randall likes swans, but there's more behind the name of her Maiden Rock business--Swan Song Contemporary Arts--than that.

Randall is also concerned about the planet, she said, being highly interested in the eco-arts, which have a connection to nature. Meantime, tundra swans commonly migrate along the river route on which her enterprise is located.

"If we can connect to nature ourselves, we can avoid our own 'swan song'," she said to explain some of her thinking in deciding what to call her enterprise.

The gallery will be a stop on the Fresh Art Fall Tour for the first time Friday-Sunday, Oct. 1-3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Randall is excited about participating in the event after spending three years getting her outlet established.
