Blue Christmas worship and community meal

Bethlehem Lutheran Church at the corner of CTH V and 730th Street, Ellsworth, will hold its annual community-wide Blue Christmas Worship on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m.

The service is meant to be a time of hope, light and remembrance. Not everyone finds the Christmas season to be the "hap...happiest season of all." Quite a few struggle through the holidays because of losses and struggles in their lives or because of complicated family situations.

The service brings them together to find hope and light in what can feel like a dark and bleak time of year. Everyone is invited to come to the church for a soup supper beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the service.

In other December events, the monthly free Community Meal will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Eidsvold Lutheran Church (W6111 CTH EE, Bay City). This month, there will be a "Build-your-own-baked-potato-bar" for the meal.

Around 6 p.m., participants will make tie lap blankets for shut-ins and help with this project would be appreciated. Everyone is invited to stay for a brief Advent Worship at 7 p.m., led by the Confirmation students. (Eidsvold Lutheran is handicap accessible.)
