The seventh annual Wine and Wishes fundraiser for St. Francis School will be held Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the St. Francis Parish Hall in Ellsworth.

The money raised will help the school with rising textbook costs. Last year, with support from donors, over $29,000 was raised; this year's goal is $30,000.

Organizers are working to make this a community event. The "adult's night out" will feature wine tasting, hors d'oeurves, beverages, entertainment and a live a silent auction. For the third year in a row, it will also feature beer tasting.

This year's entertainment from 7 to 9 p.m. will be from a local band. A silent auction will occur from 7 to 9 p.m., with a live auction conducted by Hines Auction Service at 9 p.m.

Among this year's donations are: Disney World passes donated by Disney, set of four Twins tickets donated by Coordinated Business Systems, outdoor table donated by Rockworks Landscaping, Wine Making Kit donated by LaVern and Delores Kusilek, 10'x10' gazebo with concrete donated by Jackie Slocum and Bryant Cole and family, a Terry Redlin print from Jack and Shirley Hines, wine bottle trees from Builders Choice and Hoyer Depot, bowling party donated by St. Croix Lanes and many other items donated by local businesses and friends of St. Francis.

BoJo's Creations is again donating the decorations for the evening.

$500 Merlot sponsors are: Coordinated Business Systems, Fairmount Minerals, Joanne Hines Insurance, Quinn Motors, Hines Auction Service.

$250 Chardonnay Sponsors are: Brenner Overhead Doors, Chuck and Henri Jansa, Clyde's Corner, St. Francis Knights of Columbus.

Tickets are $25 per person, including the wine and beer tasting, beverages and tasty treats. The tickets can be purchased at St. Francis School and Quinn Motors.

The school is a non-profit organization striving to create a strong child-centered, academic environment which prepares young people for a successful future built upon Catholic Christian values.
