Beginning in 1974, National Catholic School Week has been an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United states. It ran all week Jan. 28-Feb. 3. The theme for 2018 was "Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed." Schools observed the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

Catholic schools have existed in the United States for centuries and today make up the largest non-public school system in the country. They are known for academic excellence, high standards for student achievement, teaching children respect, instilling the value of service to others, moral development, high graduation rates, and preparing students to be productive citizens and future leaders.

Here in Pierce County, St. Francis Catholic School in Ellsworth, St. Joseph's Catholic School in Prescott, and Ave Maria Academy in Plum City celebrated CSW. These schools offer faith-based education using Catholic Christian values. Everyone is welcome. All three schools are currently enrolling and invite anyone to contact them for more information.
