Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services recently donated a large Maytag refrigerator to the Elmwood Food Pantry.

Through their "Operation Round-Up" program, the cooperative has been very generous to the food pantries in Pierce and Pepin counties. The program was established to assist people and organizations in need of food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, etc., in the service area and surrounding communities.

Money for the program is donated by members of the cooperative who "round-up" their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. Previous donations to the Elmwood pantry were a freezer and $2,000 in 2011, $1,500 in 2012 and now $1,500 for the new freezer.
