A River Falls father and son were both in Pierce County Circuit Court Friday facing one count of child pornography.

Allen and Adrian Clausen, ages 45 and 17, 471 Jefferson St., if found guilty face a maximum penalty of $100,000 and 25 years in prison. Their next court appearance is 1 p.m. Nov. 17 for a preliminary hearing.

According to the criminal complaint, around 5:45 p.m. last Wednesday, Allen, the father, came home from work and was met by River Falls police and agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

They informed him that he wasn't under arrest; they just wanted to talk to him about a couple of matters. Allen agreed and the interview was moved to the River Falls Police Department.

Investigators asked Allen about the number of computers at his home because a search warrant had been executed there and they had information that child pornography was being downloaded. Allen responded there were two computers in the house - a desktop and a laptop.

When asked about pornography, Allen admitted in the complaint that a "normal" week would be for him to look at child pornography three times a week, including watching at least five videos. He explained that he searches child pornographic Web sites because he is "curious."

Allen believes the youngest age he has viewed was around 3 years old. He did say later in the interview that he has become aroused while watching the images.

When the interview ended, Allen was arrested for possession of child pornography and taken to the Pierce County Jail.

As his father was being questioned at the River Falls Police Department, DCI agents were interviewing Adrian at the home.

Adrian said he views Internet pornography twice a week, but thought none of it involved children. When asked the youngest person in the videos or images that he has downloaded, Adrian said around age 12.

However, he later admitted, he thought the youngest was actually around 5 years of age.
