ELLSWORTH FIRE SERVICES ASSOCIATION meeting will be on Monday, Jan. 19, at the Ellsworth Fire Department Southern Station, which is located at the Red Wing Airport, at 7 p.m. The Agenda of the meeting will be: Approval of Department officers for 2009, Treasurer's Financial Report for 2008, Approval of 2008 Financials, Any related business to come before the EFSA Board.

VILLAGE OF ELLSWORTH HEALTH, LICENSE, WELFARE COMMITTEE meeting will be on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 5 p.m. at the Village Hall, 130 N. Chestnut St., Downstairs board room (East rear entrance). ST CROIX VALLEY MASTER GARDENERS will start the garden year with Proven Winners rep Carrie Hanten Larson, River Falls. She will talk about the fun new annuals for use primarily in containers, but also for the garden landscape. The Thursday, Jan. 22, meeting will be held in the basement of the River Falls Public Library, Union and Main streets, at 6:45 p.m.  The meeting will also serve as a social and get-acquainted period for new Master Gardeners and members. LOOK GOOD FEEL BETTER is a program designed to help women overcome the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatments. The sessions are the first Monday of the month on alternating months at the River Falls Area Hospital (the first classroom on the left coming in the front entrance). TURNINGPOINT SUPPORT GROUPS: Turningpoint offers ongoing support groups for victims of domestic and sexual violence. The Self-Esteem Group and the Children's Support Group meet on Mondays; the Domestic Violence Support Group and the Children's Support Group meet on Thursdays; and the Sexual Assault Survivors Support Group meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
