Harley-Davidson closes Wauwatosa plant this month
Fifty workers will be laid off when Harley-Davidson closes its plant in Wauwatosa this month.
The closing is set for Sept. 25 and it is expected to remain closed through the end of the fourth quarter. Maybe longer.
The company has notified the Department of Workforce Development of the impended layoffs.
Some of the Wauwatosa workers with seniority could bump current employees at the Harley distribution center in Franklin.
Both of those plants are scheduled to be closed, permanently, next year.
