Prescott area club targets enthusiasts of all things vehicle

TOWN OF OAK GROVE--Whatever it is about their rides that interests area vehicle enthusiasts, and regardless of what kind of transportation it is, some of their peers in Western Pierce County are organizing a club for them.

"Too many clubs are focused on one thing," Steve Sizemore of the new Mechanic Shop Enthusiasts Car Club said at his Town of Oak Grove home Thursday. "My thought was there should be a group for people interested in a variety of vehicles."

Believing others may feel likewise, Sizemore (self-elected club president) and fellow organizer Mike Femling of Afton, Minn. (vice president) sent out e-mails to prospective members, once they decided to proceed last month. They'd gotten a positive response from 15 to 20 area residents as of last week.

So the first meeting of the organization has been scheduled for Thursday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Franke's Bar and Grill on Hwy. 10 between Prescott and Ellsworth.
