UW men's hockey ends losing streak with win over CC
MADISON - For the first time in eight games the Wisconsin men's hockey team pulled off a win Saturday.
The Badgers got goals from Craig Smith, Patrick Johnson and Justin Schultz to whip Colorado College 3-1 in front of over 15,000 fans at the Kohl Center.
Wisconsin was 1-for-7 on the power play. Scott Gudmandson had 33 saves for Wisconsin, including 14 in a furious third period as the Tigers tried to come back.
Wisconsin's record is 20-14-4, including 12-14-3 in WCHA play after the weekend split. The Badgers had gone 0-6-1 in their last seven games.
UW will play the Tigers again next week in Colorado Springs, Col. in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.
