U women's hockey routs SCSU 8-1

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - After giving up the first goal the University of Minnesota women's hockey team scored eight unanswered to beat St. Cloud State 8-1 Friday at the National Hockey Center.

Five of the Golden Gophers' goals came in the first period as the U led 5-1.

Jen Schoullis and Amanda Kessel scored twice for Minnesota. Kessel finished with three assists and Anne Schleper had three assists. The U outshot the Huskies 41-23. Gopher goalie Noora Raty finished with 22 saves.
