Spring Valley takes 9-2 loss to Hudson, play at Ellsworth Friday night

SPRING VALLEY - Spring Valley's return to St. Croix Valley League play after being off a week was a rude one as Hudson put on a 9-2 beatdown Wednesday evening at Syverson Park.

The Hawks were out hit by the River rats 12-5. Derek Wegner took the loss.

Spring Valley's next SCVL game will be at Ellsworth Friday at Young Field. The Hubbers are having their SCVL home opener. First pitch is at 7:30 p.m.

Both teams will be looking for their first league win.

Also this weekend Elmwood will be at New Richmond and Hager City is at Osceola Friday night as well. HC is off to its best start in league play ever while New Richmond leads the Red Cedar Division with a 5-1 record. St. Croix Division leader Prescott is at Plum City Saturday and hosts Spring Valley on Sunday. Saturday's game also feature Bay City at Osceola and Hager City at St. Croix Falls. Bay City is back home Sunday to take on Elmwood.
