Kenseth to try again to move back into first place in Sprint Cup standings
BRISTOL, Tenn. - Matt Kenseth of Cambridge will try again to move back into first place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings, when he competes in the Irwin Tools Night Race tomorrow in Bristol Tennessee.
Kenseth is second at the moment, 20 points behind front-running Greg Biffle. Paul Menard of Eau Claire will compete in his first race without his crew chief, car chief, and another crew member. They were all suspended until October third for modifying the frame rails on Menard's car at Michigan last week. Menard and owner Richard Childress lost 25 points each. It dropped Menard to 16th in the Sprint Cup standings. Travis Kvapil of Janesville and Kelly Bires of Mauston are also entered in tomorrow night's race.
Meanwhile, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will compete tonight in the Food City-250 at Bristol. Beloit-born Danica Patrick will try to improve on her No. 11 spot in the standings. The Camping World Truck Series is off until a week from tonight at Atlanta.
