Minnesota women pucksters blank Bemidji State

MINNEAPOLIS - Win No. 31 for the No. 1 University of Minnesota women's hockey team came at the expense of Bemidji State by 8-0 score at Ridder Arena Friday evening.

In front of a crowd of over 2,000 the Gophers scored four goals in the first period and three in the second. Amanda Kessel had two of them along with an assists while Becky Kortum had a goal and two assists, Hannah Brandt had a goal and an assists and Milicia McMillen also had a goal and an assist.

Winning goalie Noora Raty only had to make 17 saves while two BSU goals had to make 19 apiece. Raty also had an assist on a goal. Game two of the series is Saturday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. in Minneapolis.
