Construction to begin on housing in several Western Wisconsin communities

Construction is expected to start later this year on affordable housing development for low-income residents in three western Wisconsin communities.

A little over $1.1 million dollars in federal aid will be distributed through grants from the HOME Rental Housing Development program. The money will be used to help build affordable apartments and town homes for households at or below 60 percent of the nation's median income.

The money is headed for developments in Cashton, Menomonie and Solon Springs.
