Power still out in some Pierce Co. areas

Many homes and farms in several townships in Pierce County are still without electricity 30 hours after an unprecedented wet, heavy snowfall broke off trees and power lines.

Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services crews are working on the area served by its Esdaile substation and work is continuing in the towns of Oak Grove, Beldenville, Maiden Rock and Trenton.

Crews from other area cooperatives were called in yesterday to assist.

The automated message on the cooperative's phone line said there is still "no estimated time of restoral."

The co-op's spokesperson could not be reached to determine home many customers are still without power.
