Menomonie man seriously injured in early morning Hudson crash

A 22-year-old Menomonie man was seriously injured when he was thrown from his vehicle as it rolled over on I94 eastbound at exit 2 around 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Daniel Melstrom was transported from the scene of the accident to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where he was listed in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.

A Hudson police officer was the first on the scene around 5:13 a.m. followed by Wisconsin State Patrol. The State Patrol is investigating the accident and is working with HPD to determine the cause of the crash. More details of how the accident happened will be released as they become available.

No other vehicles or property were involved in the accident. Melstrom was alone in his vehicle and did not appear to have been wearing a seatbelt.
