13-year-old boy victim of bicycle/truck accident

A 13-year-old Ellsworth boy was the victim of a bicycle/truck accident Monday afternoon.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the boy was riding a bicycle westbound on 570th Avenue, when he crossed over the center line and struck the side of a truck driven by Edward Helmer, Ellsworth.

The accident occured at around 1:10 p.m. about 1.5 miles west of Highway 65.

The boy was transported from the scene by Ellsworth Area Ambulance with undetermined injuries to the River Falls Area Hospital.

Helmer was uninjured.

Pierce County authorities would not release the boy's name and said the accident is still under investigation.
