Prescott woman opens up dog training service

PRESCOTT - RC, a three-year-old part Chiuahah/Bichon Frise, has a few problems.

"All the dogs around the neighborhood run from him," said owner Eileen Jones of Prescott. "He doesn't socialize well with dogs or people."

She added, "He doesn't get mean or excited, just aggressive."

So when Eileen read in the local Prescott newspaper that a woman in town, Candiss DelCastillo, was offering a pet service on the principles of noted dog trainer Cesar Milian, she called her.

"That sold it because we watch him faithfully," Eileen said of Milian, who hosts a show called The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel.

DelCastillo became a fan of Milian thanks to Cesar's Way, his book that was a New York Times best seller list last year.

"I found that book helpful in a variety of ways," she said.

Therefore, DelCastillo launched Walks and Wags Pet Service last month and last week made a stop at the Joneses.
