MR board adopts park fee resolution

MAIDEN ROCK--The Maiden Rock Village Board acted on a variety of items early this month.

Among them, the board:

--Adopted a resolution making the $20 fee to reserve the park non-refundable.

--Approved an LP contract with Schaul's Gas of Durand. They will supply the heating for the water department and the village hall building.

--Approved a beer and wine license for Jennifer B. Smith, who will operate the Old Man River Pizza Pub. The board also approved an operator's license for Allison Bever.

--Agreed the fire department along with the village should sell the old 1978 Ford Fire Pumper Truck.

Village President Douglas Lansing appointed the following to the Zoning Appeals Board. The terms are for three years: Douglas Lansing, fellow board members Roger Erickson and Wayne Larson, along with village resident Judy Johnson Daleiden. The four join Peggy Rothe, whose term expires next May.

To comply with Department of Transportation rules, the board named another street in Maiden Rock: Bridge Street. The street, which is located about 2/10 of a mile east of Hwy. 35, is no more than about 60 feet, distance-wise.

The next monthly meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1.
