Beldenville woman upgraded to good following Sunday night crash

The Beldenville woman who was injured in a two-car crash Sunday night has seen her status upgraded.

Kathleen Knutson, 35, is now listed in good condition, according to a Regions Hospital spokesperson Wednesday afternoon. Knutson was initially listed in fair condition at the St. Paul hospital Monday morning.

The crash occurred about 7:44 p.m. on US Highway 10 near 570th Ave. in the town of Oak Grove. Knutson had to be extricated from her damaged vehicle before being transported by Prescott Ambulance directly to Regions.

The driver of the other vehicle, John H. Hoikka, 22, with a last known address of N4784 County Highway E, was arrested at the site for probable cause of operating while intoxicated. Therefore, he was transported to River Falls Area Hospital, where a blood draw was performed.

The results of the blood draw won't be known for a couple of weeks, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Herman Kreig.

Hoikka was then moved to Regions Hospital where a spokesperson Wednesday afternoon said he was discharged.
