Badger women close out season with tie

The University of Wisconsin women's hockey team closed out its regular season Sunday with a 2-2 tie at Minnesota.

Alycia Matthews had one goal and one assist for the Badgers, who finished third in the WCHA at 20-5-3.

Hilary Knight scored the game-tying goal for Wisconsin early in the third period. It tied her with Meghan Dughan for the Badger scoring lead with 17 goals.

The Gophers finished second behind Minnesota-Duluth.

The Badgers are 24-7-3 overall as they get ready to host Minnesota State in the first round of the conference playoffs. It's a best of three series which starts next Friday night.
