Garden tour fundraiser this Saturday

PRESCOTT -- Funkie Gardens will again sponsor the upcoming Prescott Garden Tour Fundraiser, an annual benefit for beautifying city parks.

The tour will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. this Saturday, for attendees to get new and unique ideas by spending time looking at other gardens. This will be an opportunity to view some of Prescott's private gardens, talk to the gardeners and share in their knowledge and experience.

Tickets with map of the garden tour are $10 per adult and $5 for seniors. Children 14 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at Funkie Gardens or at any of the stops because there is no route; however, participants who would like to enter a $50 gift certificate drawing must complete all the stops.

These participants should end their tour there, where they can enter the drawing, then tour the grounds. The nursery covers an entire city block in Prescott, and is complete with 1859 residence, carriage house and a myriad of display gardens.

Stops on the tour include the gardens of Ted Beverly and Rick Chrustowski, Diane House, Debbie and Mike Hunter, Mary and John St John, Freedom Park in Prescott, and Baard and Diane Webster.

These gardens were selected because they are of avid and experienced gardeners.
