UPDATE: Minnesota man dies from injuries in accident

HAGER CITY - A 65-year-old Minnesota man has died from the injuries he sustained in an one-vehicle accident Saturday evening in Hager City.

Donald Opdahl, 65, Minneota, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. Opdahl was the passenger in a northbound vehicle on State Highway 35 near County Highway VV being operated by Janice Pedersen, 62, Apple Valley, Minn.

The vehicle then left the roadway, entered the ditch in front of Ralston Purina and rolled several times. Pedersen was ejected. Opdahl was wearing a seat belt and remained in the vehicle.

Both were transported by Mayo Helicopter to St. Mary's. Pierce County Sheriff's officials along with Ellsworth Area Fire Department and Red Wing Ambulance personnel were also at the scene.

The Sheriff's Department added the accident remains under investigation.
