Two accidents within a 24-hour span sent three people to hospital

The first accident happened Monday morning on County Highway M in the town of River Falls. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reports Patrick Durham, 22, River Falls, was westbound on CTH M when he attempted to make a left turn onto 880th Ave., and was struck by a vehicle driven by Janine Serier, 35, Baldwin.

Sgt. Chad Koranda reports both Durham and Serier were transferred to River Falls Area Hospital with undetermined injuries. River Falls Area Ambulance and Fire, Jerry’s Towing, Day and Night Towing and St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office assisted Pierce at the scene. Koranda said the accident remains under investigation.

The second occurred at 6:35 a.m., Tuesday morning at the intersection of County Highway E and 570th Ave. in the town of Oak Grove. Deputy Mike Vodinelich said investigation at the scene showed Christopher L. Moen, 40, River Falls, was driving his 1999 Dodge Ram truck southbound on Hwy. E when he was T-Boned by a vehicle driven by Michael J. Zipko, 46, Ellsworth.

Zipko was westbound on 570th Ave., and had stopped at the 570th/E intersection. He pulled out when the collision occurred. Moen was taken to River Falls Hospital by Prescott Ambulance.

Prescott Fire Department was also on scene.
