Menomonie woman dies in UTV accident

A Menomonie woman died Sunday night in an utility terrain vehicle (UTV) accident in Dunn County. 

The Dunn County Sheriff's Office states around 7:20 p.m., they received a report of a female trapped under an UTV near the intersection of County Highway D and 293rd St. in the town of Eau Galle. 

Upon deputies arrival, they found Diane M. Noble, 55, trapped under the UTV with extensive trauma to the head and neck. She was transported by Durand Ambulance to Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand where she was pronounced dead. 

The driver of the UTV, a Polaris Ranger, was identified as James A. Drier, 50, Menomonie. He sustained minor injuries from the crash. 

The news release states based on the investigation, Drier was accelerating while making a turn and the UTV rolled onto the passenger side trapping Noble under the side of the UTV.

The crash is still under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff's Office and Medical Examiner's Office.
