Truck/semi collision east of Ellsworth

Two people were injured Friday morning with a truck and semi collided east of Ellsworth.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, a 2013 GMC Yukon, driven by Netca M. Sobotta, 34, Pepin, was northbound on County Highway D when she was unable to stop at the intersection with US Highway.  A semi, driven by David T. Rose, 38, Eau Claire, attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so. The accident happened around 10:40 a.m. The semi tipped over on the driver’s side in the ditch on the south side of the road.

Both drivers were transported to area hospitals by Ellsworth Area Ambulance, Sheriff’s Deputy Tara Wentlandt stated in a news release. The Sheriff’s Department was also assisted on scene by Ellsworth Fire, Melstrom and Jerry’s Towing.
