Land use zoning near airport in Pierce County eyed
BAY CITY--Future development in the vicinity around the Red Wing Airport near Bay City is drawing interest from a newly formed joint airport zoning board.
The board is comprised of 16 members from entities affected by the airport, plus a chairperson, according to Melissa Underwood, airport planner.
In Wisconsin, the Towns of Hartland, Isabelle and Trenton as well as the Village of Bay City each has two representatives on the board, along with Pierce County; in Minnesota, it's the Town of Wacouta, City of Red Wing and Goodhue County for such representation, Underwood said Thursday.
Underwood said her employer, Short, Elliot and Hendrickson, has been retained by the city to deal with land use zoning in the area surrounding the airport.
