Roarin' refresher

Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce members got an up-close look at the new Ellsworth Lions Club drinking fountain in East End Park when the chamber’s monthly meeting was held there last week. Lions President Jay Nesseth said the fountain was made by a Sparta company, and was sponsored and installed by the local Lions with assistance from Joe Walter and his crew. Similar fountains have been arranged by other Lions clubs in surrounding communities, including Amery and Menomonie, Nesseth said. Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival goers this past weekend undoubtedly saw the new park attraction, too. A festival preview was given the chamber Thursday, highlighted by such changes from the original schedule of events as the additions of Touch-A-Truck and music by “Billy and the Kid,” along with the report of an expected 60-plus vendors, almost double the number of last year.
