Adler Tank Rentals expanded into this region with the purchase last month of the former Astleford International facility on the southwest corner of the Hwys. 10 and 63 west intersection, west of Ellsworth.

The nationwide business, which previously had its closest location to here in Illinois, plans to upgrade the building on the property, according to Regional Manager Ed Olson. Excavation and new signage are to be among the improvements.

“A driver we hired told us about the opportunity and we decided to look into it,” Olson said Friday, indicating besides the high visibility site, company officials liked its proximity to three refineries.

The firm rents storage tanks ranging from 3,000 to 21,000 gallons and other equipment to construction outfits, environmental interests, refineries and manufacturers, he said. It’s clean when they get it, they can keep it as long as they want and it’s cleaned up after they return it.

“Ninety-eight percent of our customers are businesses,” he said.

Adler was started on the East Coast by Steve Adler of New Jersey, Olson said. The enterprise was privately held until approximately five years ago, when it was bought by McGrath from California.

Olson himself began in the Midwest Region, where there are now five sales representatives, he said.
