Accomplice in Swenson case facing felony charges

An accomplice of Wade Swenson is now looking at felony charges herself.

Christin B. Swenson, 18, North Branch, Minn., was charged last month in Pierce County Circuit Court with allegedly delivering illegal articles to an inmate. The charge is a Class I felony, which carries a maximum penalty of $10,000 and/or 42 months prison if found guilty.

Court records show she was released from jail on $3,000 bail Dec. 28 and her next court appearance is a pre-trial conference scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1.

According to court records:

Pierce County Sheriff's Department investigators were notified by the jail on Dec. 9 of a letter written to Wade Swenson by a law firm in Roseville, Minn. The address label and return address were handwritten, which caused jail officials to become suspicious, as jail policy indicates all legal correspondence must have an embossed or type return address.
