Schaffhausen won't take the stand, defense rests case

HUDSON - The father who admitted to killing his three daughters last summer in River Falls will *not* take the stand in his insanity trial.

Thirty-five-year-old Aaron Schaffhausen declined to testify today and told the judge it was his decision. The defense has rested its case.

The prosecution called a River Falls neighbor to the witness stand today. Lisbeth Danielson said Aaron called her five to ten times after he and Jessica separated in August of 2011. She testified that Aaron wanted to know if Jessica was dating anyone, and that many of the calls ended with Aaron getting angry. The defense claims Schaffhausen killed his daughters because of a mental illness.
